Ceramic Bead Blasting Application for Smartphone Middle Frame

After CNC machining, aluminum and stainless steel smartphone middle frames tend to retain tool marks, burrs and oxide layers. Blasting serves as a core pretreatment process before shaping and anodization.

Ceramic beads are widely adopted in surface blasting treatment for aluminum and stainless steel smartphone middle frames. With spherical shape, high toughness, low contamination and recyclability, they deliver uniform matte texture without scratching or damaging precision metal surfaces. The most commonly used sizes in the 3C industry are B60, B170 and B205, covering full-range cleaning and finishing requirements.

Ceramic Bead B60 features relatively larger particle size and strong cutting force. It is mainly used for preliminary blasting to efficiently remove CNC tool marks, burrs and oxide layers, leveling uneven base surfaces for subsequent fine finishing.

Ceramic Bead B170 is the standard general-purpose grade for mass production. It provides balanced abrasion performance, producing consistent satin matte surface with stable roughness. It ensures uniform anodizing color, smooth hand feel and excellent fingerprint resistance, suitable for most mainstream smartphone frames.

Ceramic Bead B205 is an ultra-fine grade for high-end finishing. It delivers super soft velvet texture, refines subtle surface traces, and protects delicate edges and narrow grooves. It is ideal for flagship models requiring ultra-fine matte appearance.

Compared with traditional abrasives, ceramic beads reduce dust, avoid iron contamination, extend service life and improve coating adhesion. They have become the preferred blasting media for high-quality smartphone middle frame surface treatment.
